Whitecross Regeneration Project

The University is working on a new project with Morston Assets, a property development company founded by entrepreneur Tom Harrison and Sir Tom Farmer CBE who have acquired a number of brownfield sites in need of regeneration, one of which is located at Whitecross village, close to Linlithgow. The University Research and Enterprise Office is currently undertaking a scoping study to aid in the development of an enterprise centre which will form the heart of the new community, with a view to delivering learning opportunities as well as aiding in the development of new business opportunities.

We held an open meeting where a presentation by both Morston Assets and the Research and Enterprise Office (REO) was delivered outlining the vision of the regeneration project and opened discussions of the opportunities (research, teaching and enterprise) the regeneration project presents.

The purpose of the open meeting was to describe the project and partnership and begin to scope out how individual departments within the University could get involved in a way that adds value to both that department and the development itself.

If you have any questions regarding the project, please direct them to, Alison Hay, Business Development Manager.

This event, organised by the Universities Scotland Research & Commercialisation Committee - Research Training Sub-Committee, was designed to introduce research staff to the basic concept of Knowledge Exchange. The workshop provided an opportunity for researchers to discuss what activities are considered to be part of Knowledge Exchange; appreciate the importance of these activities to the Scottish Economy, future research funding and career progression and know where to find additional support to enable researchers to take their first steps in Knowledge Exchange.
