Improving Health Outcomes

A doctor shines a light into a little girl's eye.What do we do in “Improving Health Outcomes”?

Our aim in this Cluster is to improve outcomes for patients and health overall, and to improve quality of life. We explore interactions between nurses, midwifes, patients and the public, and use tools such as environmental health impact assessments and mapping.

This area of research interest addresses issues such as;

  • Reproductive health outcomes (including environmental influences)

  • Engaging the public in cancer causation (including environmental influences)

  • The relationships between health and homelessness

  • Drug users and tissue viability

  • Disadvantaged groups

  • Breast feeding research
