Nutrition, Physical Activity & Health  

Young people use the University gym.

This Cluster uses research labs to examine short-term interventions and analyse human samples. Our aim is to evaluate the impact of physical activity interventions involving nutrition on people’s health.

What do we do in "Nutrition, Physical Activity & Health"?

Our research focuses on the following areas;

  • A young man plays tennis on a clay court.Muscle function and how muscles age

  • How nutrition and exercise relates to metabolism

  • Excercise and obesity in children

  • Neuromuscular function in health and disease

  • How effective campagins to promote physical activity & modify diet are

  • How our cells respond to exercise
