Research & Enterprise at Stirling

Research and Business

Student Enterprise

The Student Enterprise Programme develops an enterprise culture amongst our student body.  Enterprising behaviour is a key trait valued by employers when selecting their workforce.  Enterprising individuals are more innovative, confident and entrepreneurial in their work.

The programme has a number of events throughout the year where students can engage and develop their enterprising skills.

What do We Offer?

We provide a full advisory service covering all aspects of enterprise, business creation and support.

Incubator

The SUREstart incubator, based on the Innovation Park, offers Stirling students free office accommodation, professional advice, mentoring, business support services and much more.  The incubator has successfully helped many student businesses to get started.  Our businesses now operate globally and continue to surprise us with their diversity and ingenuity.

Enterprise Zone

With support from some of the most successful business owners in Britain, our bespoke space in the heart of the new library has a growing reputation for business support.  The zone is used by a wide variety of businesses and groups helping our students with seminars, workshops, events and a range of other initiatives designed to take students to their next level.

Scottish Institute for Enterprise

At SIE, we aim to make enterprise and entrepreneurship accessible to all students in Scotland. Have a look through the About SIEsection to find out more about what enterprise means, what's involved, and how an enterprising spirit could make a positive difference to your time at University and after graduation.

SIE is managed at Stirling by the Student Enterprise Manager and two interns recruited from Stirling students.  The intern scheme is a fantastic opportunity, if students wish to apply for the post, get in touch with the Student Enterprise Manager.

We don't judge your idea - our aim is to help you explore, develop & achieve your ambition. Our support is FREE and includes office space, phones, printing, legal and accountancy advice and much more.

All we ask from you is an idea and the commitment to explore it.

Other Support

We partner with the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT), Business Gateway and others to ensure a comprehensive service.  Ask the Student Enterprise Manager for details.
